Cast

DaveDave is essentially the narrator/protagonist of the strip, or is supposed to be. He's the one that drives it (in a technical sense), by questioning and reacting to the absurdities of the rest of the cast. He's 'normal' and responsible; he pays the bills, holds down a job, and maintains certain knowledge about life and the application of genuine living. He's an artist who loves cookies, but is also a struggling pyromaniac. Chill. The voice of reason.

ShaunOverly-eloquent and idealistic, Shaun is caught up in his fanciful imagination and self-righteous schemes. He's irresponsible and essentially ignorant (of life), though intelligent. Possibly 'aristocratic' in nature; structured, ordered, and logical in his reasoning (illogical as his reasons may be). He loves literature, facts, information, etc., and is a collector of historical artifacts and sentimental objects. He serves as a foil to Dave's down-to-earthness and responsibility, as well as Bill's irreparable randomness. Writer. The voice of intellect and philosophy.

BillBill is a source of pure entropy in the strip. He acts on the premise of chaos, and maintains that he's an innocent victim of disorder. He loves glowsticks, raves, and World of Warcraft. He's a foil to Shaun's pervasive sense of structure, but gets along with Mike due to his partying nature and Dave because of his 'chill' factor. The voice of instinct.

Mike Mike, brother of Dave, is perpetually bound to the higher-education system; in a state of limbo in regards to his graduation status. Mike is a prankster who loves to antagonize Shaun, but also discreetly reflects an adherence to order (not necessarily law). Prone to violence. Mike is politically active (I think him being a member of the "Anti-Prohibition" party from the '20s, given its irrelevance), with a heavy hand and a love for booze.

Roy Roy is for modeling purposes only.

PacoPaco is an eight-legged sea beast that apparently has no need for water, as it survives in the apartment without suitable habitation. Not overly-present, but does pop up subtly from strip to strip.

Green NightThe Green Knight binds Shaun and Dave to a publishing contract; awaits his duel with the Octopus (Paco).

PyroPyro (as we'll affectionately call him) is a figment of Dave's imagination. He's the embodiment of Dave's previously unknown pyromania.
